Scottish Firefighters Go Before Disciplinary Hearing for Not Attending Gay March

Four firefighters are due before a disciplinary hearing over their refusal to hand out leaflets at a gay pride march in Glasgow. Some of the men were opposed to attending the event on religious grounds, while others did not think it was part of their core duties.

See more here or here. Pray for the brethren and e-mail a protest to the Strathclyde Fire Brigade.

I pray that they stand strong in the face of the enemy, and that the enemy is shamed by the righteous Spirit that dwells in them...
Uhg! And the gays always claim that their lifestyle is personal...

Sadly the mother country of the Presbyterians is the most liberal (in my opinion) of the nations that comprise the UK, due mainly to the Edinburgh/Glasgow conurbation and the strong socialist influences (and ultimately the liberalism of the C of S and Romanism).

N. Ireland is the most conservative of these nations, but direct-rule by non-Irish government ministers and campaigns by U.K. pressure groups, coupled with unelected bodies like the so-called Human Rights Commission are trying to erode this. For example, (if I remember correctly) Scotland has banned spanking, whereas N.I. and England/ Wales has not; and N.I. bans abortion, whereas Britain allows it.

The Christian Institute website gives more information on the moral and ethical battles in the U.K.
